Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
lately i have very sensitive skin. if i scratch i bleed and it leaves bruising marks that don t go away for days. I lost over 80lbs in the last year and my skin is hanging. I look old and it almost seems like I should have kept some of that weight on?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have extreme skin sensitivity( allodynia ). Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like overexposure to the sun , neuropathies , migraine , shingles or fibromyalgia. some of these conditions such as fibromyalgia and demyelinating disease are not very easily treated. Treatment for a condition like vitamin B deficiency may reduce or eliminate the tingling sensation in the skin. Herpes zoster may also be treated with an anti-viral drug, which will also eliminate the burning pain on the affected skin. So i would suggest you to consult dermatologist for proper examination and treatment as mention above . For now take anti inflammatory to decrease skin sensitivity .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
