What Causes Extreme Shortness Of Breath?

Hi,I have been extremely short of breath with very little exertion...I had a stent put in last august..never know when to panic...I can t walk even the shortest distance without getting winded. when do I know If I should call an ambulance YYYY@YYYY

Hello,

You are suffering from extreme shortness of breath with little exertion. You have history of having stent put. Pre existing medical conditions like compromised lung function due to smoking, asthma, COPD can cause shortness of breath. Sometimes, after stent angioplasty shortness of breath is experienced due to weak heart function (low EF) and sometimes due to the side effects of certain medicines taken.

Shortness of breath is an abnormal occurrence after an angioplasty with stent placement. You are suggested to get a follow up clinical examination done by your treating doctor to be on the safer side. Stay away from addictions if any.
