Hi
The symptoms you describe sound like Morton
Neuroma which occurs as a result of an
injury to a nerve and commonly affect the nerve that travel between the third and fourth toes. The causes of this condition are unknown but believed to be related to wearing tight shoes/high heels, abnormal positioning of toes, flat feet, forefoot problems and high foot aches.
Other causes of the symptom may include:
-
diabetic neuropathy,
-peripheral neuropathy
-metabolic problems like ionic problems like low calcium and magnesium
-
Stress fracture
-Over weight
-It could also be an after effect or a sequel of plantar fascitis.
-Infection but less likely given your symptoms
With all these possibilities, i will advise you get the leg examined by a Doctor and if need be, tests will be requested.Pain medication like
ibuprofen may help you feel better while you prepare to see the Doctor.
Hope my answer will help you
Best regards
