What Causes Extreme Hunger Pain That Radiates To Chest Area?
I am a 40 year old woman .For he past few nights i have been suffering from what initially starts off feeling like extreme hunger pains that radiate into my chest area..they are pretty intense. So today I went to my doctor and they did an EKG and chest xray which tuned out fine, they also drew some blood and scheduled me for a stress test in 4 days and sent me home with some Nexium in the meantime My concern is that there is a history of heart disease in my family and I am still experiencing this discomfort. Part of me is thinking I should not wait to see what happens and go to the ER. What could be causing this?
Hi, Chest pain which are of cardiac origin increase with exertion or stress & decrease on rest. Other important causes of chest pain could be muscle pain, costochondritis (inflammation of joint between bone & cartilage of chest) and gastritis. So to determine whether it is a cardiac pain, you will need stress test which you are already scheduled for. So don't worry & complete the test. Most probably it would be normal. Thanks Take care
