What Causes Extreme Cold Sensation In The Right Leg Radiating To The Thigh?

My right leg gets cold. Like very cold to the touch. It started at my foot years ago and has gradually moved up my leg until it is now mid thigh. This is a frequent occurrence during the cooler weather months. I take sectoral for high blood pressure. This is not everyday but several times a week once the temps drop below 65.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The cold sensation may indicate that there is a reduction in blood supply to that area.

This is one of the more common causes for this sensation, another cause would be abnormal function of the nerves. Abnormal nerve function (neuropathy) can cause different sensations to occur including a cold sensation.

There are certain factors that would increase the chance that it is related to the blood supply such as smoking, obesity, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, diabetes.

To determine if it is related to the blood supply or nerve function, you would need to be assessed by your doctor.
This assessment would include a history and physical examination along with investigations such as blood tests and possibly ankle brachial index test.
This test checks for poor circulation in the legs.

Treatment would depend on the cause found.

I hope this helps
