What Causes Excessive Yawning With Inner Ear And Throat Pressure?
Hi I have anxiety but for years I have constant urge to yawn all the time and it s causing pressure discomfort in my inner ears and throat. I m always thinking the worse but the GOP says it s anxiety. It s physical symptons affecting my daily life. I seen a ENT once and he didn t seem concerned
As per your query you have problem of excessive inner ear and throat pressure with yawning . Well the symptoms you mention in query are pointing towards a condition known as eustachian tube dysfunction . In this condition the eustachian tube gets block with mucus produce from upper respiratory track infection specially when it is left untreated for long times or occur again and again . I would suggest you to consult EN specialist again for proper diagnosis . Doctor may order test like throat swab test , viral culture test and blood test to rule out condition like inner ear infection and throat muscle spasm . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics ( amoxicillin or penicillin ) , decongestants or mucolytic agent alon with anti inflammatory . For now do warm saline gargles , take steam and apply warm dry compresses to external ear .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
