What Causes Excessive Weight Loss And An Increased Appetite?

I have lost 10% of body weight (21 lbs) in 6-8 weeks (I started at 250 and now weight 228) without really trying. I am hungry and I am eating 3 -4 times a day. I m drinking a lot of water! I feel a bit more tired than usual and have some back ache. I m petrified to go to my doctor because when I look up my symptoms Pancreatic Cancer pops up? What do you think???

Hello,
Thank you for trusting HealthcareMagic for your health concern

The most common cause for increased appetite with weight loss is increased thyroid hormone levels (hypothyroidism). Hyperthyroidism can also cause muscle pain. You do not have to edforry about pancreatic cancer at this point. Please be advised to follow up with your primary care to undergo thyroid function test.
