What Causes Excessive Weight Gain And Soreness In The Body?

Lately I have experienced weight gain and body soreness. My lower back and front ab area ache all the time. Feel bloated and puffy all the time. I can not eat all day and gain a pound. I don exercise very much with my work etc. so I know that would help but lately the lower back and ab along with being extremely stiff in my legs. When getting up from sitting or laying down I can barely move. Not sure if any of this is red flag or just need to exercise.

Hi,

You can be screened by your doctor to make sure that there are no underlying issues.

Conditions of the muscles such as stiffness and pain are best investigated by a rheumatologist, they specialize in this area.

Bloating is commonly related to diet, there is a list of foods that can contribute to this, your use of any contributing foods should be assessed.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Michelle Gibson James, General & Family Physician
