What Causes Excessive Sweating?

Anytime there is a change in the external temperature or I exert myself in even the slightest way, I begin to sweat from my head profusely. I even sweat just after stepping out of a shower. This happens all year long. Going from my home into a hot car is a trigger. Shoveling snow or folding laundry brings it on. Trying clothes on in a department store is out of the question because I will be drenched and appear to have just stepped out of a shower. I have been told by my gynecologist that this is not menopause, but something physiological. When I discuss it with docs, they say it is my meds, however I ve been on the same meds for years and this sweating is relatively new. (Two years. ) I do have Hashimoto s (I take meds to regulate this), but my endocrinologist says that is not the cause of my sweating. Does this sound familiar? What type of doc should I see? I know there are people with far more serious health issues, but I find myself staying home, refusing invitations to go out, isolating myself, and not living my life. Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated.

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hello,

As per your case history of excessive sweating, my treatment advice is:

1. Maintain good hygiene and bath twice daily.
2. Avoid excessive spicy foods and excessive salty diet.
3. Take a vitamin C supplement once daily for 3 months.

If the problem persists, then consult a dermatologist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Harshit Bhachech
