General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Thanks for your query on HCM

"As"per your clinical history is concerned please follow like this -

1)Do complete course of antibiotics and discuss a nasal drop [oxymetazoline]with your treating Doctor.

2)Integrate a few drops of peppermint oil to a small tub of hot water. Cover your head with a towel and try to inhale the steam for a few minutes. Do it two to three times a day.

Do take few preventive steps like this-

1)Try to avoid upper respiratory infections. Minimize contact with people who have colds. Wash your hands frequently with soap and water, especially before your meals.

2)Try to avoid cigarette smoke and polluted air. Tobacco smoke and other pollutants can irritate and inflame your lungs and nasal passages.

3)Use a humidifier. If the air in your home is dry, such as it is if you have forced-air heat, adding moisture to the air may help prevent sinusitis. Be sure the humidifier stays clean and free of mold with regular, thorough cleaning.

Hope that helps
