Hi...
I am sorry to hear about your problem and will like to solve it with the best of my knowledge...

As per your query excess mucous formation in throat that causes tickley feeling and cough can occur due to causes like:
1.Post Nasal Drip.
2.Chronic Sinus Infections.
3.Cold and flu.
4.Allergies.
5.Acid reflux etc..

I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist and get a thorough examination as well as investigations done as the excess mucous build up is not a normal finding.
You can be advised investigations like PNS VIEW x ray of sinuses, Nasal endoscopy, Upper G.I Endoscopy, blood tests like CBC to confirm the diagnosis, so that appropriate treatment can be instilled..

You can be given antibiotics, decongestants like Xylometazoline nasal sprays and oral Pseudoephadrine or Phenylephrine, mucolytics like Ambroxol, cough expectorant containing Gueifenesin.
Anti histamines like Levocetrizine can also be advised..
-Do warm saline gargles, steam inhalataion and use a humidifier in your room..
-Use few drops of Eucalyptus oil in your vapourizer and it will help in loosening of mucous and easy draining..
-Avoid chilled foods.
-Take more of warm fluids..
-Avoid smoking and exposure to dust and pollutants..

Hope this helps..

Thanks and regards.
