What Causes Excessive Phlegm In Chest While Suffering From GERD?

Yes I have been diagnosed with Gerd and Hiatal hernia. My Problem is that there are days when I am constantly grunting trying to clear flem from my throat. On those days I have this issue I don t have a voice either. When I found out that I had the hernia I assumed that I was clearing my throat to keep the flem from entering the hernia?

Hi...

Welcome to healthcare magic.

As per your complain you have problem of gastroesophageal reflux disease and hernia that can treated by proper diet and lifestyle modifications like..

Avoid spicy foods and citrus, coffe ,chocolate..
Eat a small amount of meal and chew properly.

Do some walking after eating a meal.

Elevate your head by two cushion during sleeping time.

Avoid stress .
Drink a more water .

After taking this much care still symptoms are present than consent a gastroenterologist for further treatment.
