What Causes Excessive Mucus In Throat And Swollen Glands?

Hello, I've been suffering with mucus in my throat and my glands have been swollen for five days with a sore throat. Could this be cold or acid reflux. I say acid reflux because the feeling in the throat has been going on for about five weeks. Thank you for your help.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have mucus in throat along with swollen glands which could be due to acid reflux, strep infection and chronic upper respiratory tract infection. I would suggest you to avoid oily and fried food and do warm saline gargles. You should take antibiotic Levofloxacin in combination with antiallergic medication. Visit ENT specialist once and get it examined and start treatment after proper prescription. Avoid taking large meals at a time and have small and frequent meals. Take antacids as well. Drink plenty of fluids.

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Get Well Soon.

Best Wishes,
