What Causes Excessive Eye Watering While Having Cataract?
I ve been diagnosed with cataracts. Waiting for the VA to approve surgery. In the meantime my eyes are watering excessively and I m getting a crusty build up every morning on the sides of both eyes. Is this common. Is there anything I can do to relieve this while I wait for the surgery to be approved.
Usually cataract would not pause watering issue, but associated conjunctivitis, other inflammatory issues or foreign body can lead to watering eye. Primary relieving factors would be: - Splashing of both eyes with cold water - Use protective eye wears as sun glasses when going outside - Avoid excess or direct sun exposure, atmospheric pollen - Prescription of antibiotic drops as moxifloxacin or others as per the need of clinician decision
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
