Hi,

As per your complain dry mouth is not always only due to reduced fluid/water intake, rather it can also be due to a number of other pathological causes that might need evaluation and treatment. As the underlying cause will be resolved dry moth will get relieved, It can occur due to causes that are commonly seen like:

- Side effects of medications
- Dehydration
- Salivary gland disorders
- Smoking and tobacco chewing habits
- Yeast infection like thrush

You should consult an Oral Physician or an Oral Surgeon and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations as per the suspected cause can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly. As of now you can chew sugar free chewing gums as they stimulate saliva flow.

You can instil artificial saliva drops containing Methylcellulose. Avoid regular mouthwashes as they have drying effect in mouth and use specialized mouthwash formulated for dry mouth patients like Biotene. Keep drinking 3 to 4 litres of water a day. Abstain from smoking and tobacco chewing in case if you do. Avoid stress.

Hope this information helps. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Thanks and regards,
