hi I have a question I am 26 years old and for the past 8 months or so I have been having these spells, I have talked to friends and family about this and everyone seems to think because of my history I am having a panic attack. I have been told when I was younger that I am manic depressant, I have ptsd, and bipolar. my symptons are lightheadness, fast heart beats, feeling of choking or can not breath, dizziness, I get hot and sweat, feeling of weakness, fear, tingling in hands and feet, sometimes my eye or cheek will twitch, and ill get nervous and sometimes angery. I have been to the er over this and had blood, pee, and kidney test done and they was fine, my doctor also checked my sugar in my blood and it was fine. im stuck and tired of feeling like this and not knowing why or whats going on with me HELP!

Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hello thanks for asking

You have history of panic attacks, PTSD, Bipolar disorder etc and currently you have symptoms of rapid heart rate, dizziness, hot sweats, weakness, fear, tingling in heads, breathlessness, twitching in cheeks, nervousness and these are classical symptoms of anxiety.

You have underwent investigations for blood sugar, urine examination, kidney testing etc and everything came normal. So this also supports our diagnosis. Don't be distressed due to these symptoms and consult a good psychiatrist for help. In anxiety and panic attacks medicines like SSRIs like Sertraline, Paroxetine, Fluoxetine etc are commonly used. These medicines help to reduce the symptoms and increase confidence in individual. For symptoms control low dose benzodiazepines can prove useful. Visit a psychiatrist for detailed prescription of these drugs.

Thanks. Hope this helps you. Take Care

Dear
Welcome to HCM
We understand your concerns

I went through your details. Please understand your anxiety and panic attacks. Panic attacks happen because of an underlying anxiety disorder. In your case, you are also obsessing with your symptoms so that they appear again and again. You must accept that your physical condition is OK after the doctor told you so after investigation. Therefore, instead of obsessing, please divert your mind towards more useful activities like career enhancement or social service. You may contact a psychologist for counseling.

If you require more of my help in this aspect, please use this URL. http://goo.gl/aYW2pR. Make sure that you include every minute details possible.

Hope this answers your query. Available for further clarifications.
Good luck.
