What Causes Enuresis?

My usually dry at night 11 year old son has recently started to wet the bed at night, there are no problems in the home but he is a little worried about starting high school in september and has expressed his anxiousness at this. there is a family history of diabetes so i was wondering if that could be an issue? should i take him to the doctors? I never tell him off when it happens, ive got a plasticised sheet to protect the mattress and deal with the wetting in a matter of fact way but it is really getting him down which i think is exacerbating the problem. HELP!

* As per the narration of symptoms, if it is sudden onset with no prior history, it can be related to stress or anxiety. If it is on regular basis from long time, then other bladder problems or endocrine disturbances have to be evaluated in details.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
