What Causes Enlargement Of Heart Followed By Heart Failure?
my mother has just died very suddenly, medical showed left side of heart a little enlarged, and heart just stopped. She had low blood pressure, 2x heart attact years prevoues. she wasn't unwell at all directly before her heart stopping. why did this happen and am i at risk?

dear,urs mother left side of heart little enlarged means she had a Dilated cardiomyopathy,she had history of 2 heart attack so mechanism more likely is decreased oxygen supply to heart muscles or ischeamia,dilated cardiomyopathy is important cause of sudden cardiac arrest,family history of heart is important risk factor for having heart disease,so u r more prone to have heart disease,to prevent this u should have life style modification like increased exercise and dietary modification like avoid oily food

Sorry for your mother the cause of death could be cardiac arrest, because of the long standing hypertension the left side of heart more precisely left ventricle get enlarge, she might be in state of hypotension at the time of gasping, hope this information helps you, have a nice day.
