What Causes Enlarged Pituitary Gland And Weight Loss?

It's not for me actually, I have a friend that has recently been in a car accident and has had a possible concussion. Although, they are not actually sure. She has had an MRI, CT scan, you name it, it's been done. Blood tests are amazing. They did however, say her Pituitary gland( near her nose or wherever) is enlarged. Other symptoms include: dizziness, fatigue, feeling nauseated. Doctors say no big deal but, symptoms are getting worse and she's at her wits end. She was, before all of this, a severe diabetic. ( insulin dependent) She has lost some unintentional weight. Sugar levels have "in a sense" corrected themselves! Impossible right? They have indicated there is nothing wrong with her. I am scared for her! I don't know what else to do.

Endocrinologist 's  Response
Hello,
Good day. Noted the history.
If she has pituitary enlargement and if her sugars now are getting corrected with out medicines , i strongly suspect low cortisol levels. Share this concern with GP and get an 8 AM serum cortisol levels done to begin with. There are a number of other tests an endocrinologist do on seeing an enlarged pituitary gland. It may be a good idea to meet an endocrinologist

Binu
