What Causes Elevation In BNP While On Toprol For PVCs?

Hello, I just received lab work today that was drawn so we could obtain life insurance. Everything was WNL except a surprise BNP elevation. The level was 183. I have taken Toprol for years for PVCs but otherwise have not had a heart history. I am a 50y/o WF. Should I be concerned?

Hi
A level of 183 is suggestive of mild congestive heart failure but by itself doesn't prove that there is same. You should check with your doctor about getting an echocardiogram to check
