What Causes Elevated Triglyceride Level In Blood While On Pravastatin?

hi,i am taking pravastatin and my triglyceride are going up.2 months ago I did my blood work and the triglyceride level was very high,then I start a very severe diet ,with flex seeds and also I am going to the gym,but today my test come back even high. In this 2 months my doctor double the pravastatin by 80mg.What I am doing wrong?Thank you

Hello and welcome to HCM.
As a specialist,i can understand your anxiety.
Taking Pravastin alone will not help, to reduce your triglyceride levels.
You need to continue with fat free, low calorie diet,with exercises.
If you do consume alcohol,reduce that,to an occasional drink only.
Ensure your B.P. and E.C.G. are normal.
After 2 months on Pravastin 80mg, repeat the fasting lipid profile.
Consider changing to Rosuvastatin,if there's no change in triglyceride level.
