What Causes Elevated Levels Of Liver Enzymes With Liver Function Normal?

My mom has liver enzyme levels in the 2000s. She just underwent a Doppler ultrasound, which showed that her liver was fine and functioning normally. The next suggestion from the doctor is for her to go off of all vitamins. Can you tell me what else could be going on here if the liver looks good on ultrasound? I m freaking out!

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The ultrasound would look at the structure of the liver whereas the blood test would take a look at the function.

Since the liver is structurally ok, it implies that there is something possibly affecting function since the liver enzymes are so high.

She should, as her doctor suggested, stop taking any vitamins/supplements and any other medications that can potentially affect the liver.

I hope this helps
