What Causes Elevated Heart Rate In A Hypertensive Patient?

in april last year i had 4 wayby pass my heart rate has never been high before i was on five ml o blood pressure meds then after surgery they put me on 50ml twice day the i went to the va to get my meds it was cheaper on me they found that my heart rate was 113 that day so they put me on 100 ml twice day then i got real sick dizzy so i cut back on the meds to 75 ml it seems that if i take too much asprin 41 ml i get dizzy also so i cut it into all so any ideas what mite be causeing this they ran a ekg every thing was good is this a normal heart rate with these problems or should i be alarmed its running arounf 96 all the time ? thank you

Hello

This may just be a benign sinus tachycardia but you need a full cardiac workup--EKG. echocardiogram, and stress test to evaluate it.

You also need to be checked for hyperthyroidism--an overactive thyroid gland.

You may need a beta blocker medication like propranolol or metoprolol to slow down your heart rate into the 60's-70's range
