Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Elevated Heart Beats While Suffering From Atrial Fibrillation?
My heartrate is in the 110 s and it skips a beat about every 8 to 10 beats and sometimes as quickly as every 3 or 4 beats. I am not on any heart medicines but I had 2 stints in the widomaker about 10 years ago and I am 61 now. This condition has been ongoing now for about 8 to 10 months. I had AFIB for quite ahwile, maybe over a year, I was shocked 4 times then had an abalasion and then another cardioiversion after that about a year ago?
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic. I can understand your concern. Since you are having atrial fibrillation and history of DC shock with Ablation, we should definitely rule out arrhythmia (rhythm disturbances in heart) for your symptoms. So consult cardiologist and get done ecg, 2d echo, stress test and Holter monitoring (24 hours continuous recording of Ecg). You may need anti arrhythmia drugs to regulate your heart beats. Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
