General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear
Understand your concern
I think your increase in creatinine level is due to amoxicillin as it cause renal damage (excrete mainly through kidney).
You forget to mention your age. According to my knowledge,
If age > 60 year old and on amoxicillin for less than one month for pneumonia then 90-100 percent increase in creatinine level occur.
So ask the doctor for renal dmage and your level is not so alarming as normal value is :0.6 to 1.25 mg/dl. So your value is slight higher side and it will comes down after stopping the drug. Do the creatinine test after stopping the drug (after 6-8 week).
Drink lots of fluid and avoid high protein diet.
Hope this may help you
Best regards
Dr. Sagar
