General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I hope in the ER They have done all the necessary tests like renal function tests, looked for features of retinopathy, chest X-rays and other basic investigations as there is a persistent rise in bp we cannot exclude the possibility of accelerated hypertension.

Also, this might be a case of what we call medically refractory hypertension where resistance might have occurred to therapy...kindly look into these matters when you plan to visit the doctor.

Also you have to look for renal artery stenosis(could do a renal artery Doppler) and pheochromocytoma (in which accelerated hypertension are seen).

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
