What Causes Elevated Blood Pressure Levels?

What are the possible causes of sudden spikes in blood pressure where: - no history of high blood pressure until about 2 weeks ago (female, age 62, lifetime nonsmoker, non-alcohol) - brain MRI, blood work and chest X-ray tests came back clear - patient is slightly obese - patient has a stent from a blockage several years ago with no labs at time indicating blockage potential - patient takes Crestor & 1 low dose aspirin daily - patient s BP is responding to 5mg Lisinopiril 1 x per day (from 172/119 at noon to 145/92 this pm) - can a heart blockage cause sudden, otherwise unexplained spikes in BP?

Hi
Thank you for asking HCM
I have gone through your query. There are several theories for the cause of high blood pressure. Due to ageing and life style changes hypodynamia as well as high salt intake can be the most likely reason. You can decrease your salt intake and do brisk walking daily for half an hour and see whether it improves. If not improving then anti hypertensive drugs will be needed.
Thanks.
