Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
The nurse where I work sent me home because my blood pressure was high. I went to see my primary care doctor who told me if nothing changed I should go to the ER. I ve been monitoring my pressure and it is still high. My last reading was 146/93. Do you think I should go to the ER? YYYY@YYYY
Hi Thanks for this query Your present BP value is not life threatening since not too high.If you are not known hypertensive, it may just be due to work stress and rest may help. However, given the complications of high BP, I will suggest you see your Doctor for evaluation and BP control after you have had good rest/sleep.If BP still high, your Doctor may consider placing you on antihypertensive drugs.I will advise the following: -Reduced salt intake -Regular fitness exercises Hope this will help Best regards
