What Causes Elevated Blood Pressure After Taking Metformin?

I am Type II diabetic. Taking Metformin and Glimiperide. I have noticed my BS levels are going up on the same meds and diet. I was 147 this morning which was a good day. I am usually 180-207. I am concerned that the meds are not working. I would like to get the sugar under 126. I have notice on days when I took Chromium Picolinate readings were lower so I think it works. I never thought so before. Any advice for a person hitting 200 on daily readings (morning). Before dinner readings are usually 30-40 pts lower. I have what is known as Dawn Effect with my sugar readings.
