What Causes Elevated Absolute Lymphocyte Count?

I had my blood work done and the results came in. I have yet to follow up with my doctor to discuss the results but everything on my results seem normal accept that my absolute lymphocyte count is high at 4507 but my overall WBC count is normal. Is that something to be worried about?

Hello,

Let me inform your clinical complaint for giving more comment on this. Your absolute lymphocyte count is definitely high. You should investigate with peripheral smear examination to look for any atypical cell if present. Viral infections can lead to high lymphocyte count.

Repeat CBC after 1 week and if still absolute lymphocyte count is high and no cause identified then we will think further like investigating with flow cytometry if needed. Consult physician for examination and discuss all of this.
