Hello,

During infection (mild or severe) there will be a high count of white blood cells with increased neutrophils. Whenever there is an infection, there will be the elevation of glucose (only when are diabetic). My suggestion is, please have these tests, first of all, fasting blood sugar and postprandial sugar levels (your age is not mentioned in the query).

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Siddartha
