Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi - I had blood work done Monday and just got a call from the health assistant 9not the doctor). She said my SGOT was slightly elevated at 51....normal being 5-34....and the doctor to her to tell me that it was no cause for alarm as I have a viral infection at this time, and she thinks that is probably the reason. I am a worrier and 51 seems more than slighlty to me. I get blood work done every 6 months for taking Crestor and the SGOT is always 28-29. Should I be concerned? What number is considered high in this case? My WBC was low at 3.00 as was the NEUT at 1.90 and LYMPH at .90. Could all this be from being sick? I sure appreciate your help! Thank you! Barbara
