What Causes Elevated SGOT Level?

Hi Dr. I have high sgot & sgot reported..my sgot is now almost normal after taking 3 days udiliv..but have sustained high sgot level of 435..what it indicate..I think all these go high due to medicine abuse I have taken antibiotics for my piloneedle that may cause this..

Hello Dear. Possible causes for high SGOT levels are

1. liver inflammation (hepatitis A, B, C, infectious mononucleosis, acute viral fever, alcohol, pancreatic disorder),

2. injury to muscles (trauma, myocardial infarction, congestive heart failure, acute kidney failure), and

3. many toxins and drugs.
