What Causes Edema Of The Legs While On Tizanidine, Montelukast And Atorvastatin?
My husband has been taking Tizanidine 2 mg. X 2 tabs at bedtime for a week now for his back pain. He has developed edema of his legs and ankles. He is already on Losartan/HCT 100-12.5 mg. daily. Could the edema be caused by Tizanidine? That s the only new med. he has taken on top of his scheduled meds. which also include Atorvastatin 20 mg. daily, Montelukast 10 mg. daily, Amlodipine 10 mg. daily, low dose Aspirin daily, and Levotirizine 10 mg. daily. Thank you.
It is unlikely to cause edema of the legs and/or ankles.
Of the listed medications Amlodipine is the only one which is known to cause edema of the legs and the ankles in addition to constipation and increased heart beats.
You are therefore advised to consult your treating doctor for an alternate effective but a safer replacement for Amlodipine.
Hope I could answer your query.

What Causes Edema Of The Legs While On Tizanidine, Montelukast And Atorvastatin?
Hi & Welcome. I can understand your concern for your beloved husband. The most common side effects of Tizanidine include drowsiness, light headedness, dry mouth, constipation and tiredness.
