What Causes Edema In The Feet While Suffering From Neuropathy?

I was diagnosed with neuropathy about 7 years ago and I am borderline diabetic (my A1C was 6.0 the last time I had blood tests done. I have taken Gabapentin for a few years, but I don t take it regularly. I ve been experiencing more symptoms lately, but when I started taking Gabapentin more often, I noticed that I have a lot of edema in my feet. My brother-in-law told me about a neuropathy medication he takes that starts with R, but I can t remember the spelling. He said it was a tiny green pill. Do you know what it is, or have other recommendations.

Gabapentin is a very good drug for diabetic neuropathy and usually does not cause oedema. The reason for oedema in diabetes is renal involvement you need to do a 24hour or spot urinary protein and a kidney function test to role out kidney disease.
