What Causes Dull Ache In Left Side Of Chest?

hi Im a female of 49 yrs of age. Ive been having this very dull ache on the left side of my chest since yesterday morning. while the pain is persistent, it does not get worse with more activity or breathing in harder or holding my breath or even sleeping positions. it is just a constant light ache and nothing more and sometimes I feel my left back also involved ..sometimes .. I am worried that it can be a problem. a good friend of mine passed away last week of a heart attack. He was also 49. thank you

Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic.
I can understand your concern.
In my opinion, we should rule out cardiac cause first for your left sided chest pain.
So better to get done
1. Ecg
2. 2d echo.
If both are normal then no need to worry for cardiac chest pain.
Simple musculoskeletal pain can be the cause.
So avoid heavyweight lifting and strenuous exercise. Avoid movements causing pain. Apply warm water pad on affected site.
But better to first rule out cardiac chest pain.
Hope I have solved your query.
Wish you good health.
Thanks.
