What Causes Dryness And White Patches On The Upper Limbs?

Hello Doctor ...we hav patient with known case Hypothyroidism on tab thyronorm 100mcg from long time and after 1 yr she did TFT and her s.tsh is normal with slightly higher T4 then what we hav to do wether reduce the dose to 75mcg or stop it for some time and recheck the levels please suggest also pt had some skin problems dryness and whitiesh patches and ithching over upper limbs....what to do pls advise?

Hi,

After starting treatment for hypothyroidism, you do not need to do full thyroid function, you just need to keep TSH normal. If TSH is normal, there is no need to change the dose. Any change would be needed for only if TSH is deranged. Regarding the patch, it may be associated with hypothyroidism, but if there are dry patches, it may psoriasis, so it needs to be seen to say for sure about it.
