What Causes Dry Throat And Headache After Inhalation Of Rubber Fumes?

Hi! My boyfriend with little microwave experience heated up food under a lid with rubber parts. The apartment started to smell, and it took us maybe 10-15 minutes to figure out the reason. Could breathing that air have been dangerous to us? I have had a bit of a dry throat and headache, but that could just be out of worry.

Hi,
Welcome to healthcare magic.
I had gone through your question. I can understand your concern.
The fumes could have caused inflammation of your respiratory mucosa including sinus mucosa...that is the reason you are experiencing these symptoms.
I recommend you to take decongestant like levocetrizine with phenylephrine combination. If you have headache take tablet paracetamol.

Nothing to worry , you will be fine.
Wish you both a good health.
