General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello, this is Dr. Gidoiu,

All the symptoms you mentioned suggest a diagnosis of Hypothyroidism ( dry mouth, dry skin, constipation, difficulty concentrating, difficulty in memory). This is one of the possilities. Your doctor should check your mom for this disorder, which is very easily tested. Via a blood test which checks for several hormone levels in the blood.

The memory loss could be a symptom of hypothyroidism, but also from the stroke/mini stroke itself.

Is there hypothyroidism in your family history?

I find this answer helpful
