What Causes Dry Eyes?

For the past six months I have been dealing with dry eyes as well as excema on my eye lids. I used prescription antihistamine drops in my eyes and a steroid free cream on my skin. I am feeling much better, however I noticed my lacrimal caruncle darkened in both eyes what used to be bright healthy pink has turned a dark brown and has not yet cleared up, is this normal, should I wait before I see my Familiy Doctor.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

As first-line management, you can use HPMC eye drops for symptomatic relief.

If symptoms persist better to consult an ophthalmologist and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
