What Causes Dry Cough, Cold And Shortness Of Breath?

I have a dry cough, that is not going away. I had a cold 3 weeks ago, and an asthma episode before that. I have a shortness of breath, when I walk even if I walk slowly. I consulted my doctor, and was prescribed 2 pumps. One Flovent and the other one subaltamol . It doesn t seem to help. I used the Flovent for 2 weeks, but I didn t use the other...it made me feel uncomfortable. I still cough, and I feel like there is mucus in my throat; I take an expectorant, but it doesn t help either. So I have started again with the Flovent and Subaltamol today. Please advise if I should continue the pumps, or see my doctor again. Thank you

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for your question.
I do understand your pain and discomfort.
As per your history is concerned go to the exact pathology before taking any medicines,
So do a full count with differential first to ruled out infection if found add antibiotics AB-Cef 200 mg twice a day for seven days + cough syrum KOFAREST 3 times per day.
2)If eosinophil % is >than 7% take a full course of DEC for 21 days
3)Finally do a clinical examination of respiratory tract by your local doctor for any pathological clinical sign present or not.
I hope I was able to address your query. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to write to me.
Wishing you all the best.
Thanks
