What Causes Dry Cough And Loss Of Voice While On Augmentin?

thanks doctor. my daughter is prescribed augmentin 625 thrice daily. today is third day and her voice is closed no body pain. dry cough right from inside . can she switch to doxcef cv. which she took 6 months back for a cure? plprescribe medicine she requires relief rather urgentlydueto some exam. YYYY@YYYY

Related to your concern it is not known that Augment can cause dry cough and loss of voice as major side effects. It is not recommended to switch the antibiotics if you don't have major side effects. But in your case you should talk with a doctor to make an physical examination and to exclude an viral situation that can cause these symptoms (laryngitis?).
