What Causes Drum Beat Sound In Ear With Dizzy Spells?

I ve been hearing a drum beat sound, or whooshing (kinda like the waves of an ocean) in my left ear for about a year now. I went to the Ear Nose & Throat doctor, but he couldn t find anything wrong. The sound gets louder, then quiets down, then will get loud again. It s constantly doing this, it never goes away. Also for the past few days I ve been experiencing dizzy spells, and they intensify when I lay down. What could be wrong with me? I m going to schedule another appointment with the ENT doctor, but it could be a few weeks before I m seen, and I just want another opinion on this.

as per the history given, you might be suffering from meniere's syndrome/disease...get your audiometry done and mri brain(cpa) to r/o anything major...otherwise if tinnitus is the only concern than don't worry...
