Inquiring about my 10 year old son, 9 days ago (sunday 11/20/16) started with low grade fever, vomiting, diarrhea, weightloss, and really bad stomach pains located just below his belly button. The vomiting stopped by tuesday 11/22/16 but the stomach pains, diarrhea, and low grade fever persisted. Went to the ER on 11/23 where they checked his appendix by ultrasound and said he was fine, that his was just a virus. On saturday I called his pediatrician who said to push fatty solid foods as the diarrhea is what s causing the belly pains. Today, 9 days later he is still with fever between 100 and 101.5 and diarrhea that is in small amounts, green in color and appears to be mucousy, and his belly pain is still in the area just below his belly button. I insisted that his pediatrician see him yesterday so we went in for 5 minutes for them to check height and weight and for the dr to push in on my sons stomach. The weight loss is about 3-5 lbs, DR said the stomach feels and sounds fine, but ordered a stool sample, which the results won t be in until tomorrow. I am really worried that this is my sons appendix but the doctors are saying it s not, it s just a virus or possible bacteria infectition.
