What Causes Dizziness While On Blood Pressure Medication?

I occasionally get lightheaded when I bend over and straighten up too quickly. Even less occasionally I get light hitting just walking around the house without bending. Recently several times when I have gotten into bed laying down I would get lightheaded. I am on a blood pressure pill and cholesterol pill. I also have afib and occasionally PVCs. Does this sound like a blood pressure issue?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

If you feel like fainting and are getting blackouts then it is related to blood pressure. However, if you feel like moving yourself or surrounding objects round and round then the problem is related to the inner ear or the cerebellum.

In your case, the heart condition, atrial fibrillation can also cause dizziness. All blood pressure medications do not cause dizziness so until you don't mention the name of the medication, I cannot rule out the cause.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
