What Causes Dizziness While On Amlodipine And Aspirin?

Hello--My wife had a brain aneurysm 6 years ago which left her partially disabled. I am her caregiver. She presently takes one 325mg aspirin tablet as a blood thinner in the morning, and one 5mg amlodipine tablet in the evening before bed. He blood pressure is very well controlled at 112-122, never higher. But, she complains every day about dizziness which is listed as one of the side effects of amlodipine. Would it be safe to experimentally take her off amlodipine to see if the dizziness would go away? Thank you.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

As her blood pressure is well controlled with tab. amlodipine, so dizziness may not be due to blood pressure.

It's not a side effect of tab. amlodepine. So don't stop it.

Please check for blood sugar level. if it's normal, you can try tab. vertin or tab. sturgeon after ENT opinion.

hope I have answered your query, let me know if I can assist you further in this case.

Regards,
Dr. Shyam B. Kale, General & Family Physician
