What Causes Dizziness, Frequent Urination And Rapid Hair Loss In Young Adult?

i have a 17 year old son who appears to be in excellent health. He is physically active and plays high schools sports. On occasion he has indicated that he feels shaky, sometimes thinks he is urinating often, waking him up in the mornings and getting him going is difficult, most concerning to him is rapid hair loss. He believes the hair loss started when he was 14, it seems to be happening at an accelerated rate now. Looking for help

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Although hair loss might seem scary, at the age of your son is not. We should look for common causes as following:
- Hormonal changes
- Genetic issues
- Use of new or non-appropriate shampoo
- Tinea capitis
You can send him to see a dermatologist, and run dermatoscopy and hair and skin scrapping examination under microscope to determine the right diagnosis.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
