What Causes Dizziness, Fatigue And Body Tremors While Suffering From Hypotension?

My 70 year old mother had high blood pressure and was on medication for many years. 3 years ago she went in for a hip replacement and they put her in ICU due to a very low blood blood pressure. They ended up taking her off her high blood pressure medicine. They said she no longer had high blood pressure. She did great for a while without no trouble. Then she started getting dizzy. She went to the Dr and they said she had Low Blood Pressure Hypotension and was put on medication. For the past 2 years she has been to a few Doctors because it has gotten much worse. Her medicine was changed several times. Well last month was the first time she got dizzy and passed out on the floor. So they sent her to the hospital for more testing. 4 days in the hospital with lots and lots of test. No heart trouble, No clogged arty in her neck. (Just to name a few test.) EVERY test came out just fine. Passed her stress test with no trouble. Changed her medicine again for the umpteen time and sent her home. Well she is still dizzy. no passing out! WITHIN THE PAST 5 WEEKS she has Fatigue Weakness and SHAKING with some memory problems that she never did before. ( I had called her and told her I was coming over to give her some money so she would have some when or if her and her friend went to the mall. 40 minutes later I arrive and we talked a bit and she hands me a check for 500.00 that she had wrote before I got there. I asked her what it was for and she said ( YOU TOLD ME YOU NEEDED 500.00) I said no Mom I told you I worked over time and that I was bring you money. She said oh you don t need it? I said no and gave her 200.00. Yes if I called needing to borrow 500.00 She would give it to me. The thing is,,,,, I have not had to borrow money in years nor was an amount even said. She was also talking like she wont be around much longer.( very odd ! This just took place tonight,) I am now thinking she has something else going on besides the Hypotension. What is your option on this? Is there anything you would recommend to help her dizziness and shaking?

Hello,

As she is 70, this is one of the common problems which most females face at that age of low blood pressure. Also, she must be having a kind of parkinsonism symptoms. There is a difference between Parkinson's disease and parkinsonism. As one is a pathology related to the dopamine secretion with rigidity and tremors and the other is having trouble with the ageing of the brain leading to dizziness low blood pressure weakness shaking etc.

I will advise to make her walk as much as possible, improve the cognitive levels, make her get involve into the normal conversation at home, give the medicine prescribed, make her do some breathing exercises, simple low-intensity general body exercises.

In cases at the age of 70, these symptoms are normal and with proper care and medications, she should have a normal life.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
