What Causes Dizziness And Loss Of Balance While Suffering From Cold?

The past few days I ve been dealing with a cold but have had sensations of lightheadedness and last night I woke up in the middle of the night and the room was spinning I was I felt out of balance went to use the restroom came back and was able fall asleep but today I still have that lightheadedness and a feeling of being off center

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you are having symptoms of having dizziness and loss of balance while suffering from cold, well these symptoms are due to sinusitis and upper respiratory tract infection caused by bacteria. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to do warm saline gargles 2-3 times a day. You should take steam inhalation twice a day. Take paracetamol for fever and headache. Drink plenty of water and liquids. Take tepid sponging if it is severe dizziness and headache. Consult ENT specialist for proper diagnosis. Doctor may prescribe antibiotics amoxiclav at least for 10 days along with decongestant. Maintain proper hygiene. Doctor may order test like swab test , blood test , and viral culture test to rule out condition like acid reflux and strep throat. Maintain proper hygiene and drink plenty of fluids.
