Hello,

Your cervical spine — or, your neck — plays a key role in balance and coordination. So, when this area of your spine is inflamed, arthritic or injured, it can make you feel dizzy, lightheaded and unsteady. Cervical vertigo — also called cervicogenic dizziness — is a condition that causes both neck pain and dizziness. It’s related to certain neck conditions. Cervical vertigo can also occur following a cervical spine injury. Though, in most cases, symptoms don’t appear until months or years after the initial trauma.

I would suggest the following:
1) MRI brain and cervical spine to rule out any brain disorders.
2) We need to rule out any inner ear problems like labyrinthitis etc.
3) Vestibular rehabilitation encompasses a number of exercises designed to improve your balance and reduce dizziness.
4) Better to consult a neuro-physician in person for thorough clinical examination to arrive at accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Pallavi M., Anesthesiologist
